Vroya’s Game Review – Wedding Dash 3: Ready, Aim, Love

The scene opens with Cupid – now an aging old cherub – pleading with his “Boss” not to fire him. Sure he’s behind on his quota, but he can make it up, he’s sure of it. He looks around and see’s that he’s in front of Flo’s Diner and comes in for an espresso. He spies in a corner the roommates Flo and Quinn discussing their latest tragedy, Quinn has booked a wedding hall for her and Joe’s wedding in 8 weeks. The only problem is that Joe has no clue! He hasn’t even proposed yet. She can’t cancel because she’s already paid for it, and she really wants to be Joe’s bride.

Quinn spies Cupid, and they make a deal… 50 weddings before the end of the year, only 2 months away. If Quinn can pull it off, Cupid will shoot his arrows of love at Joe and ensure he’ll ask her to marry him.

PlayFirst Games fires off another winner with Wedding Dash 3: Ready, Aim, Love. Like it’s predecessors, Wedding Dash and Wedding Dash 2: Rings Around the World, Wedding Dash 3 is full of color, entertaining guests, eccentric characters, and amusing surprises throughout.

Keeping everybody happy is the key to making a successful wedding. Keep those guests smiling by attending to their need before they get tired of waiting. If they get impatient and start to grumble too much, the groom will go ape (literally) and call the wedding off. Let’s hope you never see Groom Kong, or even worse yet, Bridezilla. If you see them, best just to hang it up and re-start the level, chances are you won’t even come close to passing it.

At first game-play is extremely simple. Seat the guests where they want to sit (some have preferences like sitting close to the bride, groom, or away from a particular guest), take the wedding gifts from them and put them on the gift table, then serve their entrees in order. There are three courses to serve, and once done, they’ll give up their seat and go dancing.

As you progress though, you will start to get some random surprises that are sure to keep you on your toes. Rosie’s pet dog Jax likes to run away, so you will find Quinn having to console her while Flo finds the dog and brings it back. Occasionally Cupid makes a mess when hiding behind the tower of gifts, so Quin has to set the pile straight before they all fall and break. The tables get filthy, birds try to crash the party, and of course you will often find wedding crashers of the human sort too. Get them back to the exit before the bride and groom find out, or they get nasty and upset. Cupid’s aim needs help too, more than once he hit my chef during the reception and food production came to a halt while he drooled over the bridesmaids. Slap him around a bit and he snap’s out of it though.

Graphics and audio are superb for Wedding Dash 3, something I’ve come to expect from all of the “Dash” series. I never found myself reaching for the mute button, and to tell the truth, I can’t remember much about the background music in the game, if there even was any. If it fades into the background where it belongs, then I’ve just got to say “Well done”. This game will not kill your graphics card or processor, but still is full of plenty of life and color. Gameplay is pure frantic click-click-click, but that’s what you expect from this genre. The storyline works. Too often you have just purely ridiculous stories that seem an afterthought to the game. Not so much here, it appears that they built the game around the story, a refreshing change for a much overused genre.

Vroya’s Verdict: Do I even need to spell it out? If you are a fan of any of the “Dash” series, (Cooking Dash, Dairy Dash, Diaper Dash, Diner Dash, Fashion Dash, Parking Dash, and of course Wedding Dash) you simply have to have Wedding Dash 3: Ready, Aim, Love. Don’t even bother with the free download because you are going to want to play for more than a single hour. Seriously – you want this game. Sure, you can download and play it for free, I’ll even drop a button below for you, but you are going to want more – I guarantee it.

Enjoy! Vroya
