Game Review - Jewel Quest Mysteries: Curse of the Emerald Tear
Iwin Game’s latest Jewel Quest game reaches for perfection, and like so many other games in the Jewel Quest franchise, makes it look easy. Curse of the Emerald Tear is the first Jewel Quest hidden object game, and they make it look like they’ve been doing this for years. In a word, perfect.
Audio quality is superb, using the same type of music that they’ve used in most of their games. The scenes are very well designed with hundreds of hidden objects embedded into each scene. And the mini-games should be intimately familiar with anyone who has ever played any Jewel Quest game.
Gameplay is basically like any other hidden object or seek and find game, with just a couple of exceptions. Within each scene, in addition to the objects that you have to find are jewels and coins that you can (and should) collect. The Jewels are used for purchasing upgrades like more hints, more time, and pre-matching gems on the mini-game game boards.
Just because this is a hidden object game shouldn’t leave match 3 lovers disappointed though, most of the mini-games found at the end of each search level are played on a wide variety of match 3 game boards. Most of these games are classic Jewel Quest match 3’s, but they’ve also added in a few new variations that I’ve personally not seen anywhere else. Easy to learn, and ramp up in difficulty at a decent rate of speed so that you are always challenged.
Oh - I musn’t forget the storyline. Just like any of their other games, Jewel Quest Mysteries: Curse of the Emerald Tear offers one of the best storylines offered in any casual game. Just think of this as a continuation to the other stories.
Final Verdict: Jewel Quest Mysteries: Curse of the Emerald Tear is a must-have game for any hidden object, seek and find game fan, as well as any Jewel Quest lovers out there.
