Vroya’ Review

Pirateville is a basic hidden object game with a few standard mini-games thrown in. If you’re addicted to seek and find puzzles, you’re probably going to want to add this one to your collection. Otherwise, I’m not sure if I can enthusiastically recommend it.

While the graphics are beautiful, and the audio practically non-existent, Pirateville falls short of my personal expectations. Every scene is replayed over and over until you’re practically sick of it by the time you think you’re moving on to the next scene. Then you have to find things in the same scene again. By the time you’re done with a scene for real, you know where every single object is in that room, as there is no randomness to it whatsoever. Nothing moves, if you found a cat statue earlier and it asks you for it again – it’s in exactly the same spot. Playing the same picture 10 times in a row doesn’t make for a good challenge, it makes for a chore. When by the end of the scene you can finish each one in 15 to 30 seconds, well, you tell me…

For kids, on the other hand, or people who don’t want a challenge, and simply want to read a long drawn out story, perhaps they will enjoy Pirateville more than I did.

Final Verdict: If you can’t tell from my above statements, I didn’t like Pirateville. I really hate giving bad reviews, but this one deserves it. Unless you are a diehard hidden object puzzle player, and need something to fill up time between good game releases, I recommend you steer clear. If this wasn’t an absolutely free game, I’d have deep sixed it already.

Please leave a comment if you disagree with me. I really would like positive reviews on all of my games.
