Gameplay itself is intense. You have to greet customers in the main dining hall, take their orders, and then rush into the kitchen to prepare their orders. Now when in the kitchen, you cannot see into the dining hall, so you don’t know if there are customers waiting impatiently or not. You really have to keep track of both rooms, peeking into the dining room during meal preparation to keep track of the situation there. Don’t spend too long in the dining room though, or you’ll burn the meals. It is really intense, and I only played through the few days so far. As the days do progress, you get more complicated meals and more customers.
There were times that I thought that I had really bombed out, but still got a decent score, so I guess “Gordon Ramsay” takes a little into consideration.
Another thing I really liked about this game is that the recipes that Gordon Ramsay gives you are yours to keep in real life. As an avid recipe collector, I was really impressed with the cookbook that you have in game, and the ability to print those recipes out on your printer at home. Anyone looking for some truly outstanding recipes to serve at parties or get-togethers should play this game, just to see what dishes they can serve up next, not just in the game, but at home also. Truly ingenious idea for a game.
Anyone who likes any of the dash type games will be enthralled with this game. Me, I only took a break from it to write this review – I’m going back to playing it and see if I can become a master chef!
