Vroya’s Review
Join Anna as she tries to rescue William in Curse of the Paraoh: The Quest for Nefertiti. Primarily a spot the difference game, it also blends in Hidden Object seek and finds, Logic Puzzles, and various mini-games to make a unique, fun, and somewhat addictive game.
Graphics: Not bad. I’ve seen better, but I have no real complaints. You have plenty of visual clues, nice backgrounds, and somewhat unique objects to find or find the differences in.
Audio: To tell the truth, I really can’t tell you much about the audio, it seems to fade out into the background. While it is there when you think about it, it seems to disappear when you are concentrating on finishing each puzzle.
Gameplay: As I said above, Curse of the Pharaoh is primarily a spot the difference game. When you play the first level the first time, don’t be dismayed at the lack of a double cursor, you are provided with it as soon as you collect the first five “coins”. I’d recommend searching for them first. After that (at least on easy mode) life get’s much easier. There are plenty of visual clues if you find yourself looking for that last little difference. If you see a little flash on the screen, concentrate your search efforts there before you use up your last hint. On easy mode there’s no time limit, so if you have a little patience, you’ll probably never need to use hints throughout the game. I can’t say much about hard mode as I haven’t tried it out yet. If you do need an extra hint, occasionally a character (I forget his name right now) will pop up on the sides of the screen every now and then. click on him and you’ll get an extra hint.
There are logic puzzles and hidden object puzzles scattered throughout the game, and hints to solve the logic ones in your journal. These extra games are placed just right to keep you from getting bored of doing the same old thing over and over. The story is rich and detailed, and keeps you playing just so you can read the next chapter. All in all, it kept me occupied enough that the first hour just flew by without me realizing it.
Final Verdict: Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti is a rather good game for puzzle, seek and find, hidden object, logic and spot the difference fans out there. Great for all ages, it’s at the top of my list for spot the difference games.
