Vroya’s Game Review - Action Ball 2

Whew! Vroya brushes sweat from his brow Action Ball 2 lives up to it’s name! Action, action and more action!

I thought I was just going to be testing out a basic brick-buster / breakout game. Action Ball 2 is much more than that. Believe it or not, it also transforms into a shooter too! Shoot down hordes of evil robots, and keep your ball in play. Heck, just keeping your eye on the ball is difficult enough without also worrying about the robots and missiles. Let alone capturing all the bonuses and power-ups. I found myself at times trying to keep at least 20 balls in play, while avoiding a “Boss” at the same time. Too much fun.

OK, there’s no storyline at all. But who cares? You jump right into the action from the first level, and it just keeps getting more intense on each one. At first you’ll be captivated by the constantly shifting and animated backgrounds, rotating blocks and bricks (if you even want to call them that), and the spaceships that at first harmlessly hover just out of reach. The graphics are a little bit “cartoony”, but very well done. Audio is pure classic MIDI soundtracks, possibly a wee bit annoying, but when you are in the heat of battle, you’ll never even hear them.

Once you collect so many “upgrade points”, you can start to customize your ship. You have several options, like defense, power, and my personal favorite - offense. This gives you your guns, and drastically changes gameplay. Once you have offensive power, you can start blasting away - just try to keep your eye on the ball(s). You also have the option to purchase other ships, each of which have different pros and cons to them. Basically, you get to customize the way you play with all of these upgrades available. Each one can be upgraded up to four times each, and you get to play with some serious power.

Vroya’s Verdict: If you like classic break outs and brick busters, or even the occasional space shooter game, you deserve to try out Action Ball 2. With up-to-date graphics, advanced gameplay, real physics, it’s not only awesome eye-candy, it’s a pulse-thumping action game that should give even the most experienced action gamers a run for their money.

Try Action Ball 2 for Free! Yes, that’s right - free. Just click on the red “Download” button above, and treat yourself to an hour of non-censored - full version gameplay. If you like it, it’s super easy to purchase right from the launcher - safe and secure. If you don’t, well (I know you’ll like it) you can uninstall with no obligation - ever. Heck, I don’t even ask for your e-mail address. I’m too busy playing games to send out SPAM.
